i'm at my new job . . .
i jokingly told people; "i'm eurie #2."  because i fill in for eurie on monday when she's not here.
heh, and today a client walked in and said to ME, "hi, eurie.  how're you doing?"
i should never have made the joke.
now he's watching his reel and i'm waiting for him to finish so i can burn his dvds and see if he remembered that i'm not eurie.
he's asked me my name now 3 times and he's only been here for 20 mins.

Where is Alex?

In case any of you are wondering my puppy, or as my roommate refers to him, my furry son, is very sick. We are taking him to a specialist tomorrow, but it doesn't look good. He's only a year old, but it seems his liver is failing. So, I've sort of fallen off the face of the earth for the time being. If you're not a pet person none of this will make sense to you, but he's really like a part of the family. I apologize if I haven't called you back, etc. I'll resurface sometime . . .

Currently Reading
Teaching to Transgress
By Bell Hooks

*sigh*

BORED

just how BORED am i?

you see what i'm currently reading?

do i ever read?

what do i usually read?

1) harry potter
2) relationshipy books
3) how to books . . . dog training for dumbies
4) online gossip columns
5) books on tape . . . yeah, yeah my ears get the exercise and i still get the info.

blech, i don't feel like reading bell hooks any more.  so in order to entertain myself for the time being i'll relay another chapter of embarassing alex moments:

so on our first date i told SHNate that i would bring him this book that i read, blink.  it's about how people make "gut" or "intuitive" decisions.  since he's a comm prof.  i thought he might find it interesting and we had talked about it on the phone.

a few hours before we were supposed to meet, it occurred to me that "uh, alex . . . you didn't actually READ the book.  you LISTENED to it on cd!"  EEEEEKKKK, can't tell the comm prof. that you don't like to read and actually you prefer books on tape, per item #5 above.

so, i ran to barnes and noble, prayed that they would have the book, which luckily since it's a pop culture best seller . . . they did!  but freakin' it was only available in hard back and it was like $30!  i loaned it to him anyways . . . and told him the truth about the book yesterday, hahaha 4 months after our first date, and actually, i was so embarassed i made marshall tell the story, to which he added, "your girlfriend is illiterate."

The LOS ANGELES KOREAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL needs YOUR HELP!

ok, so i have a feeling that like all of 5 people actually read my blog, BUT in the event that 1 of the 5 of you is KOREAN and/or has any interest in KOREAN/KOREAN DIASPORA FILMS . . . i'm hoping i'll catch your attention.

i'm looking for people to help me with the programming committee this year (2006). the festival will be the last weekend of sept. and will be at the sunset 5! come watch AMAZING KOREAN films before anyone else, *cough, cough*; in the interest of maintaining my current friendships, please note the word, "amazing" is a subjective term . . .

just leave me a message or email me. hope to hear from you!

Supreme procrastinater

i'm in santa monica working on my film . . . and trying to catch up with everything that i've gotten behind on. so, if you're wondering why i'm blogging when i said i was working on my film, i had to re-upload some tapes, and i'm waiting for the computer to finish. i'm bored out of my mind!
on the upside, i've paid all of my bills, finished my taxes for the most part, and will be finishing my program notes for the vc filmfest.
why do i wait so long to finish things? have i always been this bad of a procrastinater?

in other commentary, has anyone else noticed that starbucks is now pimping films? they're promoting the new spelling bee movie, akeelah and the bee, which i'm pretty sure is based off of the academy award winning documentary, spellbound. starbucks is by no means my favorite place to get coffee, but i am a word freak and i like their "word of the day" feature. although as my earlier blog pointed out, i can't spell! i'm so susceptible to marketing. so, now i can get caffeinated and learn something new. maybe i should take the gre again! hahaha, jk.

ok, i should get back to work . . . says the procrastinater
